Ta-da!

I told you there was some exciting news, and here it is:

We bought a new (to us) house!!! It's in North Delta (Annieville, to be precise) and it's on a nice quiet street. This is the house in which Chloe will grow up. Her future elementary school is just a couple blocks away, and there's a great little park (with a water park!) a few minutes away. Plus we have a bunch of family in the area.

So, you want a mini tour? Here's the entry:
As you walk in the front door, the living room is on your right:
The dining room is adjacent to the living room:
Then there's a door from the dining room to the kitchen. As you walk through that door, you see this. Rather than having a small eating area, we're going to knock a hole in that wall (where the hanging plant is on the wall) and have an opening to the living room. We'll put our large freestanding island against that wall, for extra storage/counter space.
To your left is the kitchen area:More of the kitchen area. And the door to the backyard. We'll get there in a minute. To the right of the back door is the stairs to the basement. More to come on that too.
Down the hall from the kitchen is a bathroom, and this bedroom, which will be the upstairs playroom (for now). Needs a new paint job, obviously! At the end of the hall is a slightly bigger bedroom. This will be Chloe's room. And the slightly bigger "master" bedroom:Downstairs there's a second bathroom (with a shower) and this bedroom, which will be our spare bedroom (again, needs some new paint!):
Then there's the rec room, complete with a built in entertainment centre:Finally, my favourite room. It will be my crafts room!!!It's done in pink and brown stripes, with dark laminate flooring. I'm so excited!!!And last, but definitely not least, the backyard. This is what sold us on the house:This is the left side of the backyard. Next door are two kids, ages 3 and 5, and what seems like an entire playground and half of Toys R Us!This is the right side of the backyard. There's a lower patio, which you can see just past the arbour. This photo is taken from the back of the yard, looking towards the lower patio. That huge tree in the way is a CHERRY tree!!! I think, but I'm not sure, that the tree on the left is the PLUM tree (I have no idea what they look like :p)On the far side, there's an APPLE tree! That's the lower patio to the right. And that lower patio. The door leads to the garage, and from there you can go through a door to the basement.
So, what do you think? We're so darn excited! Our possession date isn't until August 23, which is sad because we'd love to spend the summer in that backyard. At least we should still have a good month of warm weather in September!

Anyhoo, that's our big news. Stay tuned for details about the house warming party!

It's a jungle out there!

Driving Chloe to daycare this morning, she told me that there was a monkey in the grass. She said that he needed help, and we had to go back to help him.

Driving home that afternoon, she then told me that there was a lion hiding in the trees. Maybe that's why the monkey needed help? To get away from the tree-climbing lion?

Anyway, it made me laugh.

So sweet

I went to the gym tonight, and got home just as Chloe was going to bed. I went to say goodnight, and she said "Hi Momma! Did you have a good exercise?"

So sweet! I needed that, after the day we had with her. Just imagine her running around throwing things at the cat, screaming "NO!", and ignoring everything we say.

Sigh.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Today Darren and I have been married for FOUR years! It seems so long ago, but looking through the photos, I remember every minute of it.

Yeah, I read your mind

After dinner, I offered some crackers to Chloe. She said, very seriously:

"Yeah, I was thinking about some crackers."

Hah! I guess she forgot that she asked for them before dinner. Right after she announced that she wanted cookies for dinner :p

Bonjo my friends, bonjo.

Chloe's daycare sings a song that goes something like "Hello my friends, hello", and Chloe sings it often at home. Today I heard her singing something like this:

"Bonjo my friends, bonjo."

It took a couple seconds, but I realized what she was singing. Can you guess? I asked her: "Chloe, are you singing 'Bonjour' to your friends?"

"No!" she replied, "Bonjo."

"Do you mean bonjour?"

"No. Bonjo"

"Chloe, I'm pretty sure it's pronounced bonjour."

"No. Bonjo"

I gave up. We're planning on putting her in French Immersion, so hopefully she'll figure it out by then :p

Oh yuck.

Driving home from daycare today, Chloe announced that she "had a booger". I asked her to wait, and we'd get it with a kleenex when we got home. A few minutes later, we pulled in the driveway, and got out the kleenex. Chloe happily said "It's okay Mommy, it's gone. I ate it."

Oh yuck, yuck, yuck.
