Our Christmas Tree(s)

I took photos with the lights off, and the lights on, so you can see some of the details. This is our new tree. It's huge! It's pre-lit with 1,000 lights, so it's nice and bright. This photo was taken with all the lights in the house off, and you can see how the tree lights up the room!
I've yet to find a topper and/or tree skirt that I like, so ignore the ugly stand and cord!
This was the first tree Dare and I bought; when we lived in the tiny condo, we didn't have room for anything bigger. Now it's technically Chloe's tree, with some of her own special ornaments on it.

We had a bit of snow

It snowed the other day, but nothing significant. Last night it started snowing again, and didn't stop until tonight around 7pm. We all stayed home (although I managed to get quite a bit of work done - the joy of having a laptop) and Brenda came over to play with Chloe outside while Dare shovelled.

Anyway, I took a break to take a few photos.

Hey!

Me/Dare/anyone: "Hey!"
Chloe: "Hay is for horses!"

I crack up every time she says that.

Yes, that would be nice

Chloe: "I have to tell you something about something."
Me (Jessica): "Okay, what?"
Pointing to a frame of photos from our trip to Mexico (when she was 13 months old):
C: "You need to go in that blue picture."
J: (thinking she's seen Harry Potter without us knowing) "The picture with you and Daddy? In the pool? Where you're in the boat?"
C: "Yes. You need to go in that photo."
J: "Well, I took the photo, so I couldn't be in it."
C: "Oh."
...
C: "Remember when we went to that sandbox?" (pointing at another of the Mexico photos)
J: "You mean the beach?"
C: "Yes. Can we go there again? Can we go there tomorrow?"
J: "I'd really like to, but it's far away."
C: "That's okay, we can drive the car there."

As she was about to stick the end of her fork into her ear:
Dare: "Chloe, don't put that in your ear. Don't put anything into your ear."
C: "No forks? But only logs and sticks."
D: "Um, no. No logs or sticks...or rocks."
C: "Oh. Okay."

So very true

Brenda was over the other night, and Chloe was asking about my drink (I think I had a glass of wine). I explained that it was for grown-ups, and she said:

"You're a grown-up, Daddy's a grown-up," and pointing at Brenda, "and you're a FUNNY grown-up!"

Chloe and I went to the grocery store the other day, and as we drove away, she insisted we go back. When I asked why, she said:

"We have to get ham and milk!"

The funny part is neither were on my shopping list, and I hadn't mentioned that we need either ham or milk. She just decided we needed both. Oh, and I checked, we had both in the fridge.

ps. Santa photos should be coming soon. Just waiting for my dad to send them to me! My camera died just as she sat on Santa's lap. Thankfully my dad was taking photos as well.

Catch phrases

Chloe's latest catch phrases:

"Are you kidding me?"
"What the heck?"
"WHAT?" (you have to hear how she says this - if you know Brenda, you know what I mean)

She seems to be quite the incredulous kid :p
